This my 'pretties' is what happens when you keep encouraging a half blind elderly lady to learn to watercolor. I watched both videos and was SO glad that a stamped out line could be used - this girl has not quite reached the point of wild abandon with a wet brush! I think there is a saying that says something like "GO BIG or Go Home" So I took out this marvelous image that I received from Linda. I decided to alternate my petals in pink & purple but it made alot of it's "own" color running hither & yon between petals. I THOUGHT I had been very careful when applying the clean water to stay inside the lines of the petals but as my flowers dried many of the petals bled outside the lines ( hard for an OCD person to accept) I actually did better on the leaves because I didn't try to take the water right to the lined when pre-wetting. I was trying to decided whether to post my effort or scrap it because of the "bleed" but time was too short with a pending Doctor's appt. to start again . . .then I remembered from the video . .finish with some spatters. Now I usually use a toothbrush to do this ( and should have this time too) but I see people in the vid use their pant brush all the time . . .and or course ended up with some blobs . . Cest la vie . . . at least now I'm not focusing on the bleed and I do kind of like the blend of colors.
