This is for today's colour challenge, CC749, Bermuda Bay, Peacock and Silver. Also the Tuesday Teapotter challenge - MMTPT574 - We are sending some happy mail to Cheryl - one of our own âe¦ CherylQuilts who is having some health issues and needs some love.
Challenge
This week our guest of honor is our own Cheryl, aka SCS CherylQuilts. I think everybody knows she loves flowers and loves to color images of them. It's summertime and very warm in a big part of the world and flowers need water! So, my challenge is to use water to make your card...you can do water coloring or any other technique using water, or incorporate an image associated with or containing water. If you want extra cookies don't forget some flowers for Cheryl.
Destination:
Our sweet DD sister, Cheryl (aka CherylQuilts), is one of SCS's biggest cheerleaders. She's always been one of the first ones to welcome new Dirty Dozen team members to the "Dirty Pile" and is always quick to leave lovely comments on gallery postings. Unfortunately, Cheryl has been faced with a serious health challenge that will take quite some time for recovery and sadly, keep her away from Splitcoaststampers. It will be a while before Cheryl is able to post comments and make cards so let's payback Cheryl with some loving thoughts, encouraging comments and beautiful cards. Let her know that she's thought of even in her absence. Cheryl is faithful so scripture and religious versus are welcome.
I stamped the jar/vase on vellum cardstock with black memento ink and clear embossed. Water coloured the vase with soft sky and smoky slate inks and then cut out the vase. I stamped the flower stems on water colour paper and water coloured with Green Galore ink. I stamped the flower images 3 times. Once on white card stock water coloured the leaves. Stamped image again on plaid dp and then again on polka dotted dp. I cut out the leaf panel with both flowers - as the base. Next I cut out the plaid flower panel with the other flower attached to it. Then I cut out only the polka dotted flower. I glued them together. Coloured the center of the flowers with yellow/orange copic markers. Added Stickles to the center of the flowers. Stamped the sentiment using versa mark ink onto black card stock. Applied white embossing powder and heat set. Cut out with window punch. I lightly water colour washed around the flowers and stems with soft sky ink and at the bottom with smoky slate ink. Stamped over that panel with Hero Arts Design Block Tree backgrounder stamp using Soft Sky ink. Matted this panel with black cardstock, sewed around edges. Assembled Jar, Flowers and sentiment on the panel. Flowers and sentiment are popped up. I created the base panel with three different papers. The silver embossed panel - I had created last month - using TLC743 - Embossing. I Dry embossed the swirls on the white card stock. Ran the Versamark ink over the raised swirls and then applied Silver embossing powder and heat embossed panel. Cut the papers into strips and placed on top of black card stock and sewing around edges. Popped up the flower panel. I am really pleased with how this turned out. I hope it will put a smile on Cheryl's face.
Hugs..Pat

Hi Pat! You certainly have made the most beautiful card for Cheryl with the gorgeous vase of flowers. I love the EF/dp combination for the bg, too, using this week’s colours.
