I made this card for last Tuesday's Teapot Party so I am just getting this card in under the wire. Pat is our hostess and she chose the theme of sunny thoughts. Well, I live in the frigid midwest where actual temperatures are well below zero and there is little sunshine. So, even though I have never seen a tropic sunrise or sunset before, that is what I decided to do. Plus, it gave me something warm to think about too. I love sunsets and sunrises where there are a lot of really rich pinks to them so that is what I attempted to do here. I was not thinking about this going to Walt in the end so I hope he can overlook the fact he will be getting a pink card! I am calling this a sunrise so I masked off the sun and sponged around it, then moved the mask down and sponged around that before moving on to sponging the rest of the card in yellows, pinks and orange. Then I took a deep green and stamped the foliage and palm trees with that. I die cut the frame and placed that over the image for a finishing touch. I am also entering this card in this week's CAS challenge. Kathleen is our hostess and she asks us to use 3 different patterns on our cards. My card has sponging, stamping and die cutting. Thanks for looking today. ~Karen.
