Robin's fun Free for All challenge this week is all about saying a wintry "thank you" and bonus points for using something we got this year.
My "thank you" is to all the Splitcoasties who have left me so many lovely and encouraging comments throughout the year. It means more to me than you will ever know.
I have made so many wonderful friends here in Splitcoaststamperville. Just because we have never met in real life, doesn't make our friendships any less valued or important to me.
I know there are a lot of warnings about the internet, but I figure an axe murderer is highly unlikely to own Copic markers let alone pop up in a weekly challenge!
This journal page represents everything I love to do - rubber stamping, digi images, colouring images on copy paper, using pencils as a base coat and add highlight with Copics, fussy cutting, liquid pearls, glitter, Stickles, doodled border, brickwall stenciling, background text stamps, mixed media and journaling. For the winter component - they are all wearing warm jumpers. It's 40C/104F here today...very difficult to feel wintry LOL.
I bought this Dylusions mixed media journal months ago. I kept putting off using it because I worried about mucking it up. How stupid is that, I've already spent the money, might as well enjoy it.
I stamped the sentiments without a MISTI...can't remember the last time I did that. Anyway, the "thank you" words didn't come out clearly enough, so I went over the top of the letters using a Jane Davenport fountain pen (the ink is almost identical to the stamped ink).
Tip: When you need to draw/trace over the top of something, even lettering, turn the page upside down and just follow what you see. It will make no sense when it is upside down, so your brain will just follow what it sees.
When something is the right way up, our natural urge is to use our own style (which would be great if your name is Linda or Audrey).
In the blank space I have written (in the same fountain pen), the stamp brands and challenge keyword, so I can remember what I did.
Thank you for looking, it never seems enough just to say that but I hope you know what it means to me. Happy holidays and here's cheers to a wonderful new year.

Really fun! Love all the characters and your tips, Susie. I totally agree about axe murders - probably not a Copic in sight and the sweetness of a challenge would probably freak them out. Many hugz to you my friend.

Happy New Year Susie!
I'm so glad I joined SCS last summer and have gotten to know you and so many others through your beautiful artwork!
Your card is FABULOUS! I love your beautiful coloring! Those ladies look stupendous! I can't think of enough flattering adjectives! It must have been hard coloring winter clothing when it's 40C there! Hot ladies!
Also, thank you for a great tip on tracing!
Your comments and encouragement on my cards are such a blessing! Thank you for being such a huge part of the SCS family!

Darn notification email not working again, I'm so glad I spotted this in the Favourites thread. I love your trademark tree and the script on the wall...and I'll definitely remember your upsidedown tip.

That's me all the way on the left...yup, the one with the lamp shade on her head! The dark hair...well only in the back now! What a magnificent work of the heart, dear Susie. I just couldn't stop the tears when I read your words. You are a treasure to all of us. Your imagination, talent that you share freely with us...I am going to try the upside down tip, the gift of your time.
Many blessing to you in every area of your life to overflowing...

Oh, I love the ladies and their remarkable clothes, Susie! Their headpieces are fantastic, especially the two with the bowls of fruit! They are colored so beautifully and look so snazzy. You are very creative, my friend!
