Pam is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us a perfectly timed challenge. At least here in the Seattle area, summer is officially over, and the rains have come. The leaves are starting to change color and even fall from the trees. Pam's dessert option this week is "fall leaves," and her colors are Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive.
I really love the embossing folder I used for the Crumb Cake background. To get a good impression without damaging the cardstock, I lightly sprayed the cardstock with water before running it through my Big Shot. For my leaves, I wanted to try a technique Catherine Pooler showed in a video. I used Distress Oxide inks in colors as close to the challenge colors as I could get, and applied the ink pads direct to the cardstock, then flicked some water droplets on them to get a small color variation. When that was dry, I stamped the black leaves, and then fussy cut them out. Covered the leaves with Wink of Stella for a little sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

What a pretty card. Your embossing behind the leaves really pops.
