I created a shadowbox card using THIS tutorial for this week's WTUI challenge brought to us by Toni - you will find the challenge HERE.
When I featured Gem's seashell for TLC627, I was taken with how effective it was to pair the shells with pearls, and I've been waiting for a chance to do that myself ever since.
Shadow box uses generic cardstock and some fancy (old !! paper across the bottom. The aperture is cut with Spellbinders ovals, and after cutting I embossed the centre front with a folder from Lifestyle Crafts. Added some Stickles to some of the embossing. The mermaid is coloured with Mermaid Markers, pencils and some SN glitter, with Gelatos blended with a baby wipe for the sea. The seaweed is cut from a scrap of a gel print from Stacy.
Shell instructions are in TLC627], I've linked to the first post in the thread.

Just spotted your mermaid shadow box card when I was doing a search on shadow box ideas. This is so fun! Love all the extra details you added like the embossed section in the front, the DP panel that spans it, and most especially the seashell! Thanks for linking to your tutorial, I’ve tucked into my bookmarks so I can study it later.
Thanks for the inspiration! I’m gathering ideas for my hubby’s birthday card, and this card is very helpful.
