For Polly's great fun fabric-themed Not Biased mixed media challenge today.
It was a bit of a struggle to pull mixed media into this until I decided to create a little skirt for my dress form using a cling wrap background left over from DTGD last year!
To begin at the beginning, I ironed some interfacing onto my fabric and cut the body of the dress form and the button, cutting another dress form out of chipboard and swiping it with Walnut Stain. I stamped the ticking background on a big paint chip I received from Sandy, and then stamped part of a sentiment frame. I think that I might replace the stamped leaf with one of the petals left from the dress, looking at it onscreen. I stamped the frame again on kraft, and also on two little bits of washi tape on paper for piecing the flowers. Added the little wooden bird embellishment - which is covered with fabric.
Ran drywall mesh tape across the bottom. I cut the daisy topper in two sizes from the background (which was created on glossy card using starch, with Brusho Acrylic sprays and gold shimmer mist), and used them to create a skirt. The waistband is seam binding dyed with mopped-up Brusho powders, and I threaded it through a little pearl buckle. Added a die-cut button from the same fabric, and a sentiment from HA and call this done apart from adding a little petal over the leaf. Fun challenge, thanks Polly! I was so tired I didn't know if I'd get anything made today, but I couldn't resist .
