Faith gave us a fun story about angry birds and pigs for our monthly Teapot Tickle. I happily set about making my card, not realising that Angry Birds is a game until I read Sabrina's card description. These penguins look rather angry so I hope my card qualifies.
I have been practicing Heather Telford's amazing falling snow tutorial, so far all I have managed to do is run out of masking fluid LOL.
Here is one of Heathers gorgeous cards and it also contains a link to her fabulous tutorial here at SCS.
Here we have Jake, Mrs. Murphy and Claire out on patrol looking for troublesome pigs. They all started out life as unmounted rubber stamps by Katzelkraft. I used post-it notes to mask the lower two thirds of the card, then with the magic of MISTI and Versafine black ink I stamped Claire. It is supposed to look like she is behind a snow bank.
I repositioned the post-it notes to cover the bottom third of the card then stamped Mrs. Murphy, again using Versafine ink. The trees were stamped next with Ranger Archival Ink. Both inks are black but as you can see, the Versafine is much darker, which is what I wanted for the penguins.
Sadly Mrs. Murphy look like she had been dismembered so I added a polka dot bikini hoping it would look like she was in an ice hole, that didn't work either so I gave her a skirt and scribbled on some feet.
Jake was finally stamped and thanks to a tickle RAK from Sabrina, Jake has a very nice tie and hat. I added splotches of white paint, pencils and alcohol markers on the white areas and did the sky with distress inks and water. Finally I used the point end of a paint brush and dotted on some snow.
Note: To adhere unmounted rubber stamps and Stampin Up poly stamps that no longer stick, just use a glue stick. Simply use a baby wipe to wipe the glue off MISTI and the stamps.
Thank you for looking, I hope you have a happy, inky week.

Susie what fun Angry birds and some wonderful lucky Teapotter is going to just adore this card! Your falling snow has turned out beautiful on this card. I have not personally played Angry Birds but my little guy and DH have and it was a very short lived game for them. Your birds don't look so much like they are angry but like they are ready to go out for a night on the town. The Polka Dot Bikini is just so super fun!
Oh my...I haven't been on Splitcoast for so long I forgot my password! Oops. Thought I would take a peek at what's going on in the Teapot Gallery. I thought of you when I read the challenge...you seem to do a lot of crazy bird cards...as usual, your creation is amazing!

You got me laughing again Susie. Love those angry penguins, they are so cute. Mrs. Murphy looks like she i going to a luau in her grassy looking skirt. Your snow scene is right on. I wish I had your imagination. Thanks for playing.

Oh my, Susie!! I LOVE the gorgeous scene you created, especially Mrs. Murphy's outfit! Brrrr!! I'm sure she appreciates all the work you put into making her! The snow banks and snowy sky are great along with that remarkable sun with a face! How clever! I'm sure your card qualifies (as always, my friend), as I could see the anger exuded from them as soon as I saw the card! Great creation, Susie!! Hugs!!

I love the hilarity of your card designs and how you masterly tell the story!!! I'll be sure to check out the challenge, but in the meantime, I never would've known that Mrs. Murphy's feet were scribbles! I love her bathing suit/skirt, of course penguins swim while it's snowing!! You're missing the portion of the story of the childs image on the moon. Hmmm, what kind of story can I make up!?! Not as clever as you. ;) Another fantastic card!!
