I had a major fail with Kia's lovely CAS challenge, to use something "falling". The only thing I was able to salvage was this green feather! Needless to say with the northern lights background and very busy ballgown, this is NOT going in the CAS challenge LOL.
My new favourite stamp is this beautiful ballerina image by Gabrielle Pollacco. I hope you aren't tired of her yet. Depending on how you colour and the stroke lengths, this stamp is really versatile considering its simplicity.
I started with a piece of cardstock approx 6"x 8", placing the stamp in the middle. I then did long swishes with Distress crayons & Gelatos and blend in a downward direction with my finger then very, very gently use a baby wipe following the exact direction of the crayon swishes.
Copics and Spectrum Noir markers are terrific over the top of caryons, they react very differently over the waxy surface. The dark green swishes at her waist line were done with navy blue alcohol markers. They come out looking a fabulous dark green.
I fussy cut around the body and upper part of gown before positioning her against the sky. Once she looked right I then trimmed the entire panel to 5"x 7".
Thanks so much for looking.
EDIT: The photo here looks like I have used a paint brush to get the feathered effect near the bottom of her skirt, but it is the baby wipe that magically does this.

Wow! This is stunning. The green is amazing. Love, love the feather. The image of the girl staring off into the night is striking. Amazing artwork. TFS

How did I not get a notification for this? Nope, not tired of her yet at all, and that sky is AMAZING. I think I shall cease my attempts at it! I love using baby wipes with gelatos. Thanks for letting me know that the TH crayons are so similar.

From one fail to another success! It may not be CAS, but it is indeed stunning, Susie. Love the gorgeous shades of green, and the stunning feather addition lends so much depth. Gorgeous sky as well

Wow! Those feathers are so real they are tickling my nose! Incredible coloring on this and in my favorite color! I need a weekend retreat with a tutor to learn these incredible techniques! Thank you for the descriptions though. It's at least a place for me to start experimenting!
