This is for Misti's fun CAS challenge "Apples". Thanks to the encouragement and advice from Nancy CAS Littrell, I actually enjoyed making this card.
If I hadn't made this with my own hands, I wouldn't have known it was mine LOL. My favourite apples are Granny Smiths, but green is too hard for me to colour!!
I stamped Tweetie using Fired Brick (red) Distress Ink. I then smacked the ink pad onto a piece of aluminium foil and squirted a tiny amount of water in one corner. This gave me lots of shades of the one colour.
To get the darker shadow, I blended a tiny bit of walnut stain distress ink into the red ink. Walnut stain was used with a stencil.
I started out with a 4" square of hession...then I heard Nancy's voice (in my head, with an Australian accent of course) telling me "less is more"....so I pulled a few loose strands and the job is done!
Thank you for looking.

This is a fabulous creation! I love all the detail you added with the shading and stenciling, and the strands of burlap. Absolutely adorable...and into my favorites. TFS

This is sooooooo cute, Susie! This reminds me of one of my parrots (we lost him almost 3 yrs ago, after having him w/ us for 27 yrs). His nickname was Tweety Bird. He was such a little guy and a big fat liar, lol. If you asked him "did you do this?", he'd look you right in the eye, shake his head & say "no, no, no" then tell you what a pretty bird he was.

CREATIVE!!!! So fun and so smart and so creative. I LOVE this. I love Nancy was in your head too!! How fun, fun, fun. When Nancy is in my head she has a kind of throaty, beachy, outdoorsy upper U.S. accent - she is so versatile. LOL. Hugz - extra ones because this is so brilliant.
