This is my sample for Linda's WTUI challenge this week ~ WT547 Seasons. In view of thr Irish climate, it came down to a choice between spring and autumn for me; summer is lovely when it happens but is often grey and dreary, and so is winter.
It's also for this week's CCEE Stampers challenge - Lois is our hostess for September. This week she has told us that today is not just her birthday (happy birthday, Lois!!), it is also the birthday of Louis H. Sullivan (born Sept. 3, 1856), an architect credited with designing the first skyscraper. She's given us a word play challenge, using something for each letter in CITY.
I used wrinkle free distress to create my base layer, and then die-cut the leaves from it, then stamped the panel with Canvas using Forest Moss and Tea Dye applied randomly.
I sponged all the leaves with distress inks, then stamped them with Canvas, and inlaid them into the base.
I stamped the SU Autumn sentiment, sponged the edges with Gathered Twigs, added the splash from French Foliage in Stormy Sky, and then added a few gilding flakes round the edge.
I punched two tags from white card; one is sponged with green, stamped with text and then Canvas, edges sponged. The main one has a Hero Arts tree coloured with Couleur d'Art pencils and then sponged with distress inks. I added an eyelet, and then used two different yarns and some fun fibre. To finish off I added a few Dew Drops.
