I am playing along with WT524 challenge today and Linda is asking "Tortoise or the Hare"?
So here is my story....that should tell your right off which one I am!
This will come as no surprise to those that are closest to me. Although I do have a Hare moment now and then I am sooooo the tortoise!
How long do you think this took me? I would say it should have taken 15 minutes tops, right? Nope. You are looking at 1:26:58:31. Yes, One hour, twenty six minutes and change.
That's not even talking the time I spent hunting a sketch challenge.
I found Freshly Made Sketches #179 and I was off. Well, sort of. First I colored the umbrella multi colors and didn't like it so I had to stamp a new umbrella and color again. I did use Chameleon markers to color so that was probably the fastest thing about this card! Because I wanted to pop up the umbrella I stamped the umbrella next to the sentiment and colored halfway up the umbrella. Next I masked off umbrella and sentiment and stamped raindrops. That's when I realized that the raindrops had the bottoms cut off at the sentiment. Most of the time that would be a cool look to have partial images but this just looked weird with pointy things above the sentiment.
So...............I had to start all over. Stamp the sentiment, stamp the umbrella, color the image, mask, stamp the raindrops MORE CAREFULLY this time, and finally add foam dots on umbrella and glue at the top, 1:26:58:31 it was done.
There's a reason they call me the slowest stamper in the East! Note that I couldn't just type out that I was a tortoise but had to give you moment by moment action. I wear my tortoise ways well. Muahahhaha!
Don't laugh, ok, you can laugh. After seeing Robin Lee's card I realized I left off part of the sketch!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally forgot I was going to add some ribbons or paper ..........and now I think I stamped too low to fit it in. This tortoise has a screw loose today!

Oh Angie, I love your story on how you got to this card. The card is so beautifully done and I sure do love the added rain drops. I still is fantastic even without an added ribbon or other fun elements.

Loved your tortoise story, because aren't we ALL tortoises anyway? If I were to do a 15 minute card, I would probably faint! Your card is surely worthy of every minute you spent putting it all together - face it - we are s-l-o-w, but we are G-O-O-D!

I chuckled my way through your story...it is good to know that others struggle through being who they are too! Great coloring on the umbrella...colored pencils aren't so bright but I do enjoy my colored pencils for adding color to images!
