Today's terrific F4A challenge is to create a card using your newest crafty acquisition. Excellent! I just received two small orders of "stuff" and it was hard to pick one main thing to use but my new MFT Die-namics Quilt Square called to me the loudest. Heehee! It's lovely but proved to be time-consuming to cut and piece but it was fun to see it come together. I did goof a teeny bit (darn glue-couldn't even get that little bit off w/my Xyron glue eraser-go figure?) but I like the finished look. This die has tons of potential and I hope to try out some of my other ideas soon.
HOW I MADE IT: Made PTI 5.5 square card base. Centered die on a 4.5 solid square of SU cherry cobbler and cut to make outside frame (not necessary but I like the look.) Cut the entire 4 x 4 die in PTI black. Cut two Kaisercraft printed papers (you can use as many printed papers or solid cardstock colors as you want to piece.) Cut med size, DCWV silver glitzy glitter sequin (MFT sequins die.) Cut silver sentiment (Die-Versions.) Placed outside frame on base. Placed solid black outline. Paper pieced stitched pieces. Added center piece and sentiment.
QUICKSTIK: I bought one of these in about 2008 which I think is when these must have tools came out. I was a paper-piecing fool back then and that tool was my treasure. Heehee! I was so excited about them that the Christmas after I bought mine, I bought a dozen to send with Christmas cards to my crafty friends in England, AU, Ireland, Wales, New Zealand ... all over the world. Each recipient was so thrilled to have theirs that it was totally worth all of the postage. Hee! If you paper piece or use embellishments, the QUICKSTICK is a must have in my book! It's right up there with my Vagabond.
Thanks for looking!
