First the rectangular frame was silver embossed. Then, masked off with post it notes around the perimeter (a mortise mask, a.k.a. a "reverse" mask). Then the flowers were stamped with, Post It masks removed, and silver EP applied.
Because the Post It notes leave a trace amount of residue on the card, you will have to use a little paint brush to remove excess EP that clings to those areas, taking care not to brush it accidentally off the flower images themselves.
Heat and emboss, then you're ready to watercolor. I used a dryer AquaPainter, on the advice of Sweet Miss Daisy, so I wouldn't pill the paper surface.
Sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of vellum, then literally pinned to the card front with these sweet little silver pearly headed pins that are used in the packaging of my DH's dress shirts. I keep saving these pins, thinking I'll find a use for them, and now I have!
This design is also at my blog, Paper Trufflez, if you care to visit, where I chronicle my artistic journey as a stamper. It met this challenge's parameters, so I thought I'd share it.
