Hello friends,
Well, I started this project yesterday by gathering pine needles from the yard (best done in fall when they are fresher). I boiled them for 10 min. (read that somewhere). I have friends who make pine needle baskets, some of the most gorgeous things I've ever seen. Anyway, dried them by the woodstove all night and today glued them around my opening, let it dry then filled in and cut it off around the edges (pine needles are long). I did another smaller circle mat for under the pine needle layer, wound some twine around the bottom and mounted it on a folded card. My Elk scene is fall of course, and as most men know, that is bow hunting season for Elk, so, because this is for a man, I thought he would like that!
I've never done this before and when I show you my inspiration you will probably say "what"? ..well this is sorta what I had envisioned, what can I say?
My inspiration piece is: http://www.westelm.com/products/pleated-mirror-w925/?pkey=cmirrors&cm_src=mirrors||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_--_-
Ok, I just discovered that if you highlight the site info above and right click then choose open link, it will take you there.
Thanks for looking.!
