This is my card for this weekÂ’s cc419. Karen has returned from her African trip and is our hostess this week. She chose a wonderful color palette based on a dress that her daughter wore with more mustard, daffodil delight and tempting turquoise.
Our dessert option is Spring. I totally forgot what dessert was when I made my card (lol)!!
I need some masculine birthday cards so thatÂ’s the route I took. I used an older de-constructed sketch for my layout. I cut the card shape with a Spellbinders die.
My bg dsp is from the SU “autumn spice” collection. I thought the more mustard paper had a masculine tone to it.
My turquoise panel is using the Cuttlebug “swiss dots” ef and the daffodil flag is cut with the MFT fishtail die.
I cut a Spellbinders labels 10 in naturals ivory and sponged it with more mustard ink. My image (E524) and sentiment (F200) are from Great Impressions Stamps. The cupcake is paper pieced and I colored the candle and flame. The sentiment is just a portion of the “just because you’re you -F200” stamp. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig for placement.
ThatÂ’s my card for this week. Hope you can play along with us this week.

What an absolutely adorable birthday card Mary! I love how you made it a circle card. I love how you popped your cupcake on top of the label. It all flows so nicely!!
