We're mosaic-making at the tea-party this week with all the bits and pieces of broken china left after Kong's visit last week. The teapot was fabulous - it reminded me of how excited we used to get as kids digging in the garden when we found little bits of broken patterned china.
Rather than make my image into a mosaic I decided to try the Faux Torn Mosaic tutorial which was something I'd never done before.
A2 base sponged with red ink. I used a piece of Making Memories Poolside and Garden for the mosaic panel, sponging with Tumbled Glass distress ink, and Bazzinks Admiral for the darker edges.
The shelf is a scrap of faux wood that was on my desk - and those are actually brass brads fixing it!!
China is from Joanna Sheen; I stamped it with red instead of the traditional blue, and embossed with clear EP.
Since I have my tea black I stuck some irises (Flourishes Calendar Set 2) in to the little jug.
I tried a sentiment in the top left corner but it didn't look right.
