Hi! This card and Glass Luminary were made for today's Color Combo Challenge: Turquiose, Red and White. I added Black and silver as my "neutrals."
I have to say, I saw the color challenge and the luminary popped into my mind. I KNEW I had one that color in the house. I also knew that I LOOKED at it EVERY day. However, I couldn't find it! I looked in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, dining room heck even in the cabinet where I actually KEEP candles...However, no turquoise Luminary jar. I was getting pretty upset, as I KNEW it was in the house. I finally gave up and and sat down at my desk. I decided to just make the card. I reached for my paint pen, and there it was! The turquoise luminary jar was on my desk holding my paint pens, paint brushes, and aqua painters! LOL Yep...I KNEW I had one that color!
I used a peice of hardware for the "base" of the sentiment on the luminary jar. I used HOT GLUE to adhere the hardware and the bell to the glass. It works...I've done this before. Oh, and it keeps the paper from getting hot. For the card I off-stamped Nick Bantock's Charcoal TWICE before stamping the brickwall image onto the Snow Storm Smooth for the focal panel. Next, I stamped the sentiments in Noir.(One senitment each for the card and the jar.) The bells were stamped in Noir and colored in with Copics. I used the paint pen to color in the bells. Luminary is $1 at Family Dollar in the Christmas Section. They are available in the following colors Red, Yellow, Turquoise and Green.
Finished card size: 4 3/4" square
Total time to complete both: 29 minutes (including the search time!)
