This is for SC304. I thought of the Christmas Cardinal this morning as soon as I saw the oval on the sketch. There are so many gorgeous cardinal images out right now but this image is still my favorite one. I am a little disappointed as my photo does not really show that every holly leaf on the project had a cut out leaf popped up for dimension. Sometimes the camera just can't get it. But more likely it is the photographer's problem.
I stamped the image twice on watercolor paper. One to paint and die cut and the other to paint and cut out all the leaves. I started the main image layer by painting a light blue wash around the bird for a soft sky. After I painted the images I popped up the cut holly leaves and attached with Glossy Accents and glue dots. I just could not decide on what contrasting paper to use with the image and finally decided on plain white and red and to stamp lots of pine around the background. The finishing touch was the country green gingham bow.

What a beautiful card, Kitty. It has such a crisp, cool look of a cardinal in a snowy pine. Love the pine needle bg and that multi-looped gingham bow is perfect.

Wow, Kittie, this nearly pops off the page. I love your decision to stamp the evergreen needles behind the main panel, it seems just right. I like the crimped panel and the green gingham ribbon for a little change.
