For today's sketch challenge, SC270, and for this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC56 to use scallops (the border punches I used).
I've not made St. Patrick's Day cards in the past, but having this wonderful Flourishes Irish Blessings set has spurred me to do so this year!! I'll send these to my parents, sister, and aunts as a note to just say hi in a few weeks. I think the green schemes are cheery and just what they'll need to wish their yards into spring life!!
My three panels of DP were all stamped. I colored in the bouquet by sponging on Versamark ink (masking the rest out) and daubing on Stampin' Pastels in Glorious Green with the poppin' pastels technique. I popped up one flower in the middle of the bouquet and used Think Pink Fun Flock on the three flower centers and the three buttons on the pink wrap.
The paper flower was punched from pages of a vintage book. This isn't the best paper flower I've seen. Does anyone know a good tutorial? I'd like to do better with these!!
Happy Wednesday and thanks for looking!
Emily

I knew when I saw your card from afar in the gallery, it was for St Patrick's Day...how pretty!! the accents of pink are perfect, and I LOVE how you have the white flowers with flock in them, and popped one out....VERY cool!!! I think your paper flower is pretty...how creative to use the pages of a book....you are always thinking outside the box..very pretty card, Emily, your family will love them!!!

What a great image and I love that green and white houndstooth paper.
As for the tutorial on the flower, I'm sure you gotten it already, but just in case you haven't, this is an easy peasy one and comes together really well. http://creationsbycorie.blogspot.com/2010/02/puffy-flower-tutorial.html
I like how you used the vintage pages for yours. Good idea! My dh is from Irish descent and I really need to make him a St. Patrick's Day card. Yours is great!
