This card is for the His Holy Name Challenge where we are studying the attributes of God - this one is KING! It is also for the Bible Verse Challenge.
I chose Zechariah 14:8-9 as it just captures the concept of God being KING over all the earth, I love the description given in the previous verses. I actually used a page from my Bible, well - I photocopied it and then cut out the verses I wanted to use. layered them on black and then 3Ded them....it was a matter of trying it to see what it looked like...and it seemed to work.
I used my globe stamp and added the crown to symbolise that God is King over all the earth and the hourglass symbolises time passing...each day is getting closer to that great day! I also sponged the edges to give an aged look and added a couple of swirls.
As we studied KING it made me realise how our concept of King is so limited to what we see here on earth....as a New Zealand born girl, who has lived in Australia for many years I understand the reign of the monarchy, but in reality my understanding of God as King is so limited by this life here on earth.....I cannot think of God as King without recalling the scripture in John that says "the time is coming and has now come, where true worshippers will worship HIM in spirit and in truth!' and then again when the Psalmist says ' How lovely are thy dwelling places....my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God...you are my KING and my God!'
I am so greatly challenged by these verses...it is one thing to love Him as King, but another to truly serve HIM as KING.....I am challenged not just to love Him in 'the moment' but to make it a lifestyle - isn't it great that we are 'works in progress!!!'
Thank you for looking and for your encouraging comments!
