Hi! This card was made for today's Ways to Use It Challenge: Get Cracking. Participants could use any technique for this card that would involve cracks. I chose: Cracked Glass.
Speedy the Cat was prowling around the children's videos this morning. He is very careful, and NEVER bumps anything off the shelf, until this morning... He continued to knock "It's a the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," so I took the hint and used this big pumpkin! LOL! (Got to love that Speedy the Cat for inspiration! LOL)
The pumpkin was stamped on Watercolor paper and colored with SU! markers, and cut out. Next, I pressed a VersaMark pad ALL OVER the pumpkin and embossed in Glassy Glaze. I repeated the embossing 2 more times and popped it in the freezer for 10 minutes. I also embossed the designer paper in the top background and popped it in the freezer. After the papers were curled from the cold, I took them out and quickly cracked the embossed areas by twisting the papers.
To get the cracks to show, I rubbed a Close to Cocoa pad over the embossing and then cleaned with a paper towel. The cracks held the ink!
