Posting this today is my reward for finishing (at 4:00am!) & mailing 140 of these bad boys! Finally finished - woo hoo!!!
This is our 2004 Christmas Card, but a birth announcement as well! Our son was born in April, but we waited on sending out an annoucement due to adoption/NICU stuff. I thought this set was appropriate for both! I printed (computer font) the "for unto us" verse on on the inside left section, used photo corners to attach a b/w picture of us in the center section, and printed our "O come let us adore Him" and our Christmas greeting/names on the inside right section. I also made an insert of kraft-colored paper that serves as more of the announcement part (including wallet-sized picture of Eli, stats, and story of his adoption).
The card itself was pretty easy to make - the scoring and folding of the two sides was the most precise part. I did have one good idea while making this card - to stamp the nativity image without inking/stamping the whole thing (that would have wasted a LOT of US White) I inked the solid square from Simple Shapes and stamped that on the actual nativity stamp itself, then stamped the big stamp on the paper. This left only the smaller image on the paper which I punched out using the larger US square punch.
This was my first-ever experience making Christmas cards... it went surprisingly well over all. My husband helped with assembling some parts and that helped a lot. Of course, I should have started them earlier, but I did get them all finished and sent 4 days before Christmas, so I consider it a success!
Please let me know what you think... is it too plain for a Christmas card?
