When my girls were babies, they had these sweet blankets. They were loose woven cotton pastel plaid and they were the sweetest coziest blankets. Every time I use Flannel Plaid it reminds me of these blankets, and I've wanted to try to duplicate the look for forever. So I took the opportunity of Toy's card to make a baby card for some friends who had a baby girl. It'a a bittersweet occasion since they found out during the pregnancy that the daddy has Lou Gehrig's disease and has been given about a year at the most.
I tried to stay true to Toy's card, but I have a hard time CASEing---I like the freedom to change whatever whenever.
I changed the layout just a smidge, and I moved the embellishments around, and switched up the colors, the stamp set, and the layers.
I used markers on the flannel plaid to stripe it, the pink bows are buttons with the shanks clipped off, and the bear is colored with prismas and gamsol. Aida is stamped on the banana in saffron as are the word ovals. The card is sponged in cocoa.

What a great card. Love your layout and how you did your flannet bg. TFS

My DD (now 9) had the same blanket! It's her 'dou-dou' and she STILL has it! Well, she still has *one* of them... we ended up buying three just in case one got lost (she was VERY attached LOL)
Love how you've done this! TFS!
