Linda (Holstein) is hosting the WCW challenge this week and gave us a tutorial about using masking fluid and one of the things the artist mentioned is to buy cheap brushes for the masking fluid use. I did that and also Stacy told us about The Masters Brush Cleaner and Preserver. I was in Hobby Lobby and saw it and bought it. I love it and it really does a good job cleaning the masking fluid from the brush.
I also like the Winsor & Newton masking fluid but I love the Pebeo Drawing Gum with the blue tint. It makes it so much easier to see where you are putting down the masking. I bought it at Hobby Lobby, also.
This week we are also painting using masking fluid. I sketched the coneflower, laid down the masking fluid over it, let dry, painted over it to easily fill in around the petals and the background. When dry, I peeled away the mask. The coneflower/stem was nice and white after peeling off the masking fluid and I watercolored it. Fun, fun to create this card.
The tutorial this week is by artist, Emma Lefebvre and is called HOW TO USE MASKING FLUID WITH WATERCOLOR.

Super pretty, Brenda. Love your bright colors and darling cone flower. I am going to have to wait on this challenge until my masking fluid comes from Amazon. Great tips here. Hugz
