I am the host for today's teaparty tickle, which is all about direction. Since I moved the end of July, I have been in many different places because of travel plans or wanting to see family in northern WI. There have been times when I have felt very disoriented, not knowing exactly where I belong. I lived in SE WI all of my 71 years and now I live on the western edge of WI near the Mississippi. I think it will take me a while to get acclimated to the different environment; to complicate things, I brought a kidney stone to my new home. Very strange to deal with a health issue in a new place.
So my challenge to you is to use a compass on your project or arrows or something that shows direction. This isn't a travel card, however. Maps are fine as long as there is something about direction on your creation.
I used an old ef for my background and a new compass die, cut three times for dimension. Stamped a little compass at the top and embellished with gold Stickles and some gold Frantage. I scorched the paper a bit but that just added to the interest (!). I found some great quotations about compasses and direction. The inside is also decorated with a very cool compass stamp from IO and another quote. I'm also submitting this for today's TLC; I have been doing that technique for as long as I have been stamping. I used a purple ep on the vanilla panel and a gold ep on the navy cardbase. I prefer it to look a little grungy so I wasn't very careful about where the ep ended up.
I hope you join me in this challenge and I thank you very much. Thanks, Beverly for the TLC!

I so enjoyed your write-up for this challenge, Jean, and feel your pain with getting accustomed to new places. It's what keeps me from moving nearer to any of my kids (Houston or Phoenix metroplexes) after living in El Paso for more than 50 years . . . . I love the abstract look of your new compass die and the layers of similar images.

Very cool card with lots of interesting elements, and that embossing folder is the perfect background for it all. Hope you find your direction and enjoy the area, which is beautiful with all the bluffs and Mississippi River. When we lived in IL we spent many, many weekends in Galena enjoying all the hills and scenery!

of course, I love your take on Direction. The quote is so very true. All your directional elements add up to support the prompt. That is one wild die. It is amazing how the pattern with curves and angles 'paint' the image. Great compasses.
