This is for Color Challenge hosted by Jeanne. She selected beautiful colors: Flirty Flamingo, Crushed Curry, and Pear Pizzazz with adding a fourth color for the dessert option.
This time of year, I start to anticipate the new Stampin Up catalog in early May. I look at my current stamp sets that have been around for a while and wonder which ones will retire this year. Also I look for sets that I could move along and make room for new ones. I love this set with matching dies; it is definitely a keeper and a good one for Jeanne's springtime colors. I stamped lots of blooms and leaves while I was at it for more card-making later.
The flower bloom is two-step. Base was stamped off first, the detail was full ink. The flower and stem & leaves were die-cut. Using a finger dauber, I lightly tapped on some Crushed Curry ink in the flower center. I bent up the petals and tips of the leaves. I already had frames die-cut in Flirty Flamingo. A white embossed panel was the perfect backdrop. The flower was popped up. The sentiment was heat embossed in black and die-cut with a long banner, which I cut shorter. Using mini Dimensionals, I raised the center of the banner and glued down the ends. Applied Wink of Stella on the petals and tips of leaves and finished off with a Pear Pizzazz bow and a rhinestone.
I hope you will join in the challenge with these lovely colors & your creativity! TFL

I'm looking forward to the new catalog, too, Diane! My problem is that I don't tend to move things along! Yikes! Anyway, your card is so lovely! I especially like the embossed, textured background inside the frame and the way you created depth with your banner treatment!
