This week's Featured Stamper Pam (aka Craftea19) is a talented card maker with fabulous coloring skills and an eye for combining dp and layouts to make wonderful cards. Here's the card I chose to CASE this week: Hummingbird and Mice by Craftea19 at Splitcoaststampers.
I was attracted to the purple and dark green color scheme along with that sweet image. So, I kept her colors, a floral and a hummingbird; but, different images, die cuts, layout and I added a sentiment instead of a bow.
When I first started stamping I fell in love with Penny Black's line of watercolor stamps (solid images designed to be inked and stamped and not colored) and I still love them. Stamped this branch after coloring with markers; stamped the script in gold and then cut one side of the image for a border. I tried to leave enough white, but it still needed more separation from my busy bg so I popped it up on foam tape. I had the leafy bg already in my stash so not sure which inks I used on it. I die cut the frame for the sentiment, stamped and then cut off some of the decorative edges. Colored the edges of a piece of white cs with the green marker and adhered. Die cut and colored the hummer with Copics. I tried to make it look like an Anna's Hummingbird--tried. For some reason the head looks brownish in the photo but it's deep violet IRL. Assembled and added to the top of the card. Part of the bird is also on foam.
Well as often happens with my cards, this started off to be something completely different but I'm happy where my journey led me. I will be donating this card to this month's Cards for a Cause, the You Matter Project which supports people who have been abused and/or bullied.
Congratulations Pam on being this week's FS. I loved your fun images and your fabulous coloring. Your Gallery is chocked full of inspiration. I hope you enjoy all the cards you inspire this week. And I hope everyone is enjoying their crafting journey...wherever it may lead you. TFL
