This week the Alphabet Challenge is on the letter B for brads. I used today's sketch challenge to make this graduation card in school colors for the graduate.
I dry embossed the gold foil for the top horizontal panel. I stenciled stars on the white cs for the three horizontal panels, cutting them apart afterwards. I actually got to this point before selecting my sentiment, thankfully, Go, Graduate had the perfect sentiment for this layout!
The fiddly part of this card was making the graduation cap. I cut the grad cap top by cutting a 1" piece of Night of Navy and then cutting that on a 45 degree angle. I used a scrap for the cap part shaping it the way I thought looked good and using a heart punch to get the curves. I made a tassel using the embroidery floss and attached it to the cap with a brad.
It was a fun card to make. Thanks for the challenges and thanks for looking!

This is a super graduation card, wonderful colours, love the gold embossed bg and the stencilled star panels. The graduation cap is so well done, especially the fabulous tassel!

WONDERFUL! This is such a wonderful rendition for the sketch challenge Catherine, but also the foil starts and star pattered stamped strips is fantastic. Love, love your little brad tassel for your Grad. hat! So creative in so many ways!
