I did a little freehand watercolor of a beach and shoreline. Then added some shells, a starfish and a glass float all cut from watercolor rejects. I added several layers of clear nail polish to the orb so that it looks like the shine of glass. I also added some ethereal sun rays to signify HOPE for Brian beating this cancer.

I spotted those ethereal sun rays right away and just love the way they look beaming out over your beautiful beach scene. Wonderful watercoloring. I don't know if I'm more impressed by the water or the grasses -- awesome job all around. The addition of the shells are the perfect finishing touche. Brian is sure to feel transported to his favorite spot when he sees this beauty.

Delightful. I do love a beach scene, and the sun rays are so evocative of childhood holidays on the west coast. Your colourful shells remind me of a little aquarium "snowglobe" I had and treasured.
