Itâs my honor to host the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge this week, & we are headed to Plaid Crafts where I chose THIS as my inspiration. I'm also adding this to Kathy's Falliday Fest Challenge!
For my little turkey, I die cut the turkey & all the feathers, along w/ some leaves & pumpkins out of gold, rust, kraft, brown & olive card stock. I die cut 4 of the turkey bodies, because originally I was going 3D but found that it worked great instead of adding a lot of fun foam to elevate him & keep him from flattening out. I took some extra pics to show what it looks like. Two of the turkey bodies were scored down the middle & one was attached on either side of the front turkey, then a flat turkey body was attached to the back side. The feathers were scored w/ a piercing tool & half were attached to the back of the front turkey & half attached to the back turkey, giving it even more of a dimensional look.
The white & rust colored ovals were die cut, the greeting added & attached to a die cut piece of designer paper.
Thanks so much for looking. There are a lot of closeups showing how this turkey was put together, on my blog: B]The Write Stuff[/B]

Wonderful Thanksgiving card, Julie! I love the cute turkey, in his pilgrim hat! Interesting way to give him dimension, the way you put it together! Thanks for the great tip!

Lots of work went into your darling turkey, but what wonderful texture and color you achieved! That background plaid is to die for ... love the colors and the angled design.

Julie, you know how I feel about your work (and coloring), smile! This is a wonderful card for both challenges. I adore the scale of the plaid DP against the pretty font. And then the cuteness of the turkey...our wild turkeys here are not that cute!
