Jen is our hostess for Teapot Tuesday this week and her fun challenge is HERE.
I used pink and flowers, and I started out with the traced doodling that Jen suggested, and then kind of added some stamp etching with a pink Papermate Flair pen. The violet (I was relieved to look them up and find African Violets come in pink too, although all the doodling has taken away much resemblance) and leaves were stamped in pale colours of DOX. Then I coloured with Polychromos pencils. The leaves have doodling with a Papermate Flair pen, and some white gel pen dotting. The centre of the flower has some Stickles. I contoured the leaves slightly. It was originally intended to be a one-layer card so it was stamped on my best base-weight card, but I ended up cutting it out.
The background was a piece from my background box. Goodness knows what I had intended originally, it was sponged in pale purples and had some dots stencilled in darker purple. I added the basketweave stencilling with paint in the centre. When dry, I added the script stamp and some gold spatter. I tried to make a tag work and it wouldn't, so I settled for a snippet of lace. The ladybirds are cut from pink shimmer paper. The sentiment is a two-parter, the inside one uses an ODBD decorative label with more of the pink shimmer paper.

Another beautiful card Sabrina. I didn't know that violets were pink...you teach me new things all the time. But I am glad they are because this one is a beauty. Love the background. You may not have known what you were making it for, but it was probably for this. Works wonderfully.

What a feast for the eyes! Love the script and touch of lace. The basket weave looks wonderful as a base for your pretty flower. Wonderful card for your friend.

This is really stunning Sabrina and I know Barbara will be amazed when she receives this gorgeous card from you. The flower petals and leaves look so incredibly realistic with the way you doodled on them. I love this and am really impressed! ~Karen.
