Polly is hosting this week's lovely teaparty for Cammie, a friend of SCS'r SueEllen (bgpunky). Our challenge is to use stencil/s and purple is Cammie's fav colour.
I started with a very washed out piece of cardstock that had some purple brusho on it and a lot of blank white patches.
Everything here is stenciled using distress inks and one small make up brush. Extra background colour was randomly added using the same brush (I don't worry about cleaning it, the good thing about the brush is very little colour stays on the bristles/hairs).
The birds seemed to fade into the background so I replaced the bird stencil and added some modeling paste coloured with a few drops of liquid ink.
I touched one of the birds to see if she was dry...ooops, bad move. Instead of trying to repair it, I used a tooth pick to rough up the paste then I scribbled a purple distress crayon over the roughed up paste.
Thanks very much for looking. I hope you get a chance to send Teapotter hugs to Cammie in Florida. Stay safe.

Love the colours and the texture - great stencil work and such a creative card - the ruffled feathers with the cocktail stick works so well - what a happy accident!

Ah, I read the start of your description and saw all stencilled and wondered how you got the great dimension in the birds. I'm glad you went back and added the paste, it looks fab. Especially with the unintentional texturing.

Your "oops" turned out NICE, Susie! The added texture of the molding paste has given some NICE DEPTH TOO! And the colors you chose are BEAUTIFUL TOGETHER! Makes me think of our chickens here. Not getting much sleep here lately for the new brood! LOL I ALWAYS have to try to save the runt! A SUPER JOB, Susie!!! ;)<3

Just an overall fun back ground with lots of depth and interest - Your long-legged birds away make me giggle . . .( Papa, obviously, wasn't a rolling stone . . .but a fly by night crane or flamingo!)
