It's Tickle a Teapotter Week and Jeannie is our guest hostess. Jeannie has a fabulous challenge for us called "Dipsy Doodle."
Actually, this challenge made me break out in a cold sweat and get shaky all over. Honestly! So, I finally sat myself down with a stern reminder this is paint and paper dearie and not life and death. Ha!
I adore the look of water coloring, but have not mastered this technique at all. And when it comes to drawing, I draw fabulous images in my head. What comes out on paper looks like something a 1-year-old did (sigh).
I just took some paint out and did as Jeannie instructed and dipped my brush in water and just let the paint do it's thing. I was just testing out colors and not really trying to figure out an image. Mostly, I was pleased I did not have mud so I stopped before I could ruin this piece. After it dried, I could see a large rose or ranuculus in the paint so I took out my micron pen and doodled in the lines to the flowers, bud and leaves the best I could. Even though I have a long ways to go with this process, I am actually semi-pleased I was able to use this piece for a card.
Thank you Jeannie for this "Shiver Me Timbers" challenge. Now that I have done this, I think I may be braver about trying it again- maybe! Thanks for looking today! ~Karen.
