Faith gave us a fun story about angry birds and pigs for our monthly Teapot Tickle. I happily set about making my card, not realising that Angry Birds is a game until I read Sabrina's card description. These penguins look rather angry so I hope my card qualifies.
I have been practicing Heather Telford's amazing falling snow tutorial, so far all I have managed to do is run out of masking fluid LOL.
Here is one of Heathers gorgeous cards and it also contains a link to her fabulous tutorial here at SCS.
Here we have Jake, Mrs. Murphy and Claire out on patrol looking for troublesome pigs. They all started out life as unmounted rubber stamps by Katzelkraft. I used post-it notes to mask the lower two thirds of the card, then with the magic of MISTI and Versafine black ink I stamped Claire. It is supposed to look like she is behind a snow bank.
I repositioned the post-it notes to cover the bottom third of the card then stamped Mrs. Murphy, again using Versafine ink. The trees were stamped next with Ranger Archival Ink. Both inks are black but as you can see, the Versafine is much darker, which is what I wanted for the penguins.
Sadly Mrs. Murphy look like she had been dismembered so I added a polka dot bikini hoping it would look like she was in an ice hole, that didn't work either so I gave her a skirt and scribbled on some feet.
Jake was finally stamped and thanks to a tickle RAK from Sabrina, Jake has a very nice tie and hat. I added splotches of white paint, pencils and alcohol markers on the white areas and did the sky with distress inks and water. Finally I used the point end of a paint brush and dotted on some snow.
Note: To adhere unmounted rubber stamps and Stampin Up poly stamps that no longer stick, just use a glue stick. Simply use a baby wipe to wipe the glue off MISTI and the stamps.
Thank you for looking, I hope you have a happy, inky week.

Susie, I nearly slipped off of my chair when my computer flipped your card onto my screen!!! Jake! What a Titan of a man! He looks like he's saying, "Why can't you women hurry up! If you can't decide what to wear then wear what you have on!" I am sure Mrs. Murphy is eternally grateful to you for not allowing her to appear naked before millions of SCS admirers.....Clair, not so much. She's only been able to slip into her new leggings. The necklace is exquisite! But not enough to distract. After all, going out looking for unruly pigs is the highlight of the season! Her outfit must at least come up to Mrs. Murphy's standards. Clair may have to remain at home. She has found nothing that says Unruly Pig Extravaganza in her wardrobe. Sigh.
Love your narrative!!! And the Birds are out of this world!!! I love how you've put this all together! Fantastic Job!!!!! Thanks for the MISTI tip by the way. My oodles of unmounteds thank you too.

I am trying to remember what I wanted to say, yep those birds do look crabby with the face expressions and nope, I didn't know it was a game so, hey it's all good right? I love how you build these scenes and tell a story I find my self nodding along and laughing and such each time. ( I have not been brave enough to open my masking fluid yet but, I do have some)
Oh my, this card is fantastic and a hoot! I loved your story telling so much that I haven't even looked at the associated tutorial either and I love snow! More amazing is the lady in the moon. So how did you convince her to play along with the Penguins? She best becareful or they might sling a cow her way!!!

Another fabulous card, Susie! Your creativity knows no ends and this beats the real Angry Birds by far. Jake is my marvelous, but the jewel in Mrs. Murphy's belly button is the topper of them all!

Yes those are a group of very angry penguins. I would be too if I had made the trip for a holiday only to find that there was even more snow and ice there than what you left behind. I think they were supposed to be heading for the sunshine going on the outfit of Mrs Murphy. Thank heavens penguins have a good layer of feathers to keep them warm under that bikini. Giggle.
