Hi everyone! I'm playing along with Polly's Mix-Ability challenge "The World in Black and White". This is my first attempt into this (new to me) world of mixed media.
I was truly inspired by many of the creations in this gallery but it was Susie australia, Linda (holstein), and Polly's (peep321) cards that prompted me to try something different. Thank you!
*Taped off a border w/masking tape
*Mixed Dreamworks embossing paste with a touch of black acrylic paint. Using plastic card, smeared paste on upper 2/3 card.
*While wet, used bubble wrap to add texture to the "sky"
*Black cs, crumpled for faux topography. Smoothed out a bit, rubbed chalk across surface.
*Tore black cs in three strips for hills and valleys and mounted top two layers with foam tape and layered on one another (unfortunately, you can't really see the depth in the photo).
*Mountains looked to flat and used Goosebumps texture spray (this was in a mystery box from Technique Tuesday). This was my first time using it. Unfortunately I lost the chalk marks. Once this texture dried @ 20min, with a light touch, I ran white acrylic over the peaks.
*I've had these moose die cuts and pressed into Memento black ink pad then added silver glitter spray.
*Once sky was dry, stamped pine in various heights and hues
*Adhered mountains with ATG tape runner
*Sentiment embossed with detail white ep on vellum and tucked under the mountains.
I like how this turned out and may try this again. Once again, thanks to SCS for taking me out of my comfort zone and teaching new techniques.
Oh, how fortuitous, I think this qualifies for Judy's texture this...crumpling the black cs. Yes?!?!
Thank you for looking!
