I made this card for the week 4 Alphabet Double Challenge to use a Rose. I recently obtained this new Anna Griffin stencil and I was anxious to put some glass bead glitter gel on it. I sponge the color through the stencil using ink pads and sponge daubers. I let this dry for 5-10 minutes. Then, leaving the stencil still in place, I put a thin layer of the glass bead glitter gel right over everything that was just inked through the stencil. Then remove the stencil and set this piece aside to dry for 8-10 hours. I did not care for the end result because the spaces in this stencil are rather far apart making the white circle base look extremely stark. So, I pulled out some Tim Holtz Distress ink, a paint brush and a water mister. I painted spun sugar into the white areas of the roses, Shabby Shutters into the leaves and tumbled glass around the entire image. The paper warped quite a bit because it is just card stock and not watercolor paper (glass bead glitter gel does not work on water color paper because it absorbs all the moisture from the glitter gel). This is quite a large image so I struggled to make a card with this large image. In the end, I pulled out my SB Stately Circle Dies to frame out the image piece, added some dsp from my stash to the ivory card base and used some starform dazzles for a finishing touch.

Oh, Karen, this is GORGEOUS! I loved reading your "journey" with this card, and I am so impressed at how you've used the glass beads. It's beautifully colored and finished and makes an exquisite card! Love the dazzle! Hugs, sweet friend!

Well after all that work it sure turned out lovely! Love the circle die and all of the extra color adding you did. Those corner embellishments add just the right bit of extra.
