I made some strawberry crate boxes with a sunflower on the front as gifts for some friends as seen here: Sunny Sunflower Crates by Art Deco Diva at Splitcoaststampers. But I needed a way to transport these boxes an hour away so I decided to make a little gift bag to put them in. However, I am not someone who can make a lot of one thing, and I was SO OVER making the sunflowers I made for the crates. That would have been perfect because then everything would have coordinated, but I simply could not make another one, let alone 3 more. Ugh! I had been talking to my friend Donna recently and she was talking about doing some spirelli so I decided that sounded like fun. Each flower head is made up of a large, medium and small punch and spirelli is done on each flower using bronze embroidery floss. I did use the same Sue Wilson die for the flower stem as I did for the strawberry crates so that part does match. I actually stamped a very nice sentiment on the bottom of each of these bags, and the stamping did not work out for one reason or another so then I had to cover that mess up. In the end, I like the matching border on the bottom better than the sentiment. This was a really fun project to do and the gals loved their gifts so it was a win-win for all of us.
