I used a Hero Arts stamp that lays down the bg....which I did by braying black acrylic paint onto the stamp and then stamping. It gives a good solid black bg. Using reinkers and an aqua brush, colored the magnolia design. I used the layout from yesterday's SC.

Sallie, this is simply stunning. The flowers really pop against the black and the sketch compliments them perfectly. I learn so much from your descriptions, another technique to try!

What a great idea to use paint for that type of stamp, Sallie! Thanks for the idea. Because I don't have space for a MISTI and while most of the time I do perfectly with a SAMJ if I need repeat stamping, there are a couple of stamps I'm definitely going to try this with. Those magnolias against the black are just magnificent.

Love how the intense black makes those blooms really pop! Also impressed with how the sentiment pops right out in front with the multiple and perforated layers and the enamel dots! AMAZING look!

That black bg is a wonderful contrast to the pink flowers (good thinking using the acrylic paint)..This is gorgeous...I could see these as a fabric...for a decorative pillow or how about a sundress...love it!
