This mouse image is one I really wanted to ink up for Lisa's In Stitches challenge, it's been quite some time since I used it. So last night I stamped it on watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks - and then thought I'd wait for the MIX challenge today to see if I could finish it into a card for that.
Well, Polly's first challenge is Frame It!!, so that meant I was up and running.
I used Dina's Sanded Pencil Background tutorial, which brought in my extra medium. Alas, the first one, done on watercolour paper - I neglected to remove the fine masking tape I'd used instead of a stencil before die-cutting the aperture, and the tape stuck firm. So for the second time round, I use some acrylic paper and actually I really like the canvas-like texture, it goes with the embroidery theme. I stamped little sewing accessories (thanks to Francie!!) in some of the squares, laid the mouse panel behind and added it to a card base sponged with Vintage Photo distress stain. And I tried and tried to add some dyed seam-binding, but it just didn't look right so I've left it plain and simple.
