This is my card for SC589. Allison is our hostess and she gave us a great sketch to work into a card. She also gave us the liberty of changing up the scalloped border to another rectangle layer. Which I took-thanks Allison.
I wanted to start making Mother's Day cards since it's only a few weeks away and I am behind. I cased myself on this card using this one of mine as my inspiration. I did make a few changes. The original is clear embossed and I skipped that step. Plus I changed the vase and flowers color and used another sentiment and shape.
I die cut the CottageCutz spring tree frame in white card stock and used distress inks and a sponge dauber to color it in.
This is an open die cut so I added a white background panel. On this panel I first stenciled the sun rays and then sponged with bashful blue ink.
The table and chairs are another die from CottageCutz- the parlor set. I cut in rich razzleberry card stock. My table vase is part of the CottageCutz mushroom & flowers dies. I used the base from the smallest mushroom for my vase. Another way to get some other use out of your dies.
I completed my card by stamping my sentiment. It's from the ODBD set "Mother's Day". Stamped in rich razzleberry ink and used an MFT die to cut my flag banner.
