Hurrah for a day off, starting to feel better and DH telling me to rest. Making cards is restful, right? So I not only got to make one for the MIX challenge, I also couldn't resist joining in Dawn's Reading Recommendations F4A challenge. I love books and reading, and was glad enough to actually get quite a bit of reading done last month.
One of the books I read was called "The Man Who Made Things Out of Trees" - so I thought this IO die combined both the reading and the tree element.
The background has been in my box a long time - it was an attempt to see if I could use ink, spray and smash with photo paper. The answer was no, not really; but it was still worth holding onto for a while, and made a good background for this. I used a Memento pad direct to paper to create the foreground. The dies were cut from white paper and coloured with pencils, and then I just added a sentiment and some stitching lines on the base and main panel. The base is coloured with Vintage Photo distress stain.

Sabrina, I am glad you have some time and are feeling well enough to play with you stamps and dies. This is a soft, lovely, evocative card!

I can't wait for the weather to be good enough to be reading outdoors! I love your card, and I'll bet that book was a goody!

You found the perfect sentiment for what a book can do for us! Your little reader is so sweet and the tree you gave her to lean on is a wonderful place to read! I have not heard of this book. Going to see if I can find it!

Beautiful and RESTFUL card, Sabrina!! This is so soft and the BG was perfect for this challenge, along with your die cut tree. Funny, this is how I envision you relaxing - when you are not stamping of course - sitting under a tree in a meadow, reading, listening to the birds chirping in the trees! Glad you are feeling better and getting in some card time - and catching up on some reading too!
