This is for two challenges: Featured Stamper for Pvilbaum's gallery and CAS for Colorwheel of life. I so enjoyed looking through Pat's gallery. She has a few beautiful flip cards and this one in particular inspired me to finally make one. Her card happened to be posted in my birthday month. Pat's card: Frozen Summer by pvilbaum at Splitcoaststampers
I found some instructions on YouTube that were easy to follow. I used the birthday theme like the card. Happiest of birthdays, Pat! Although I did use a different image and treat - cake not ice cream. I don't have circle dies (I must get those soon!) Therefore I had to use Deco Label dies. The deco label is halfway cut out of the card front with a deco label adhered on top of the cut part and the non-cut area. When my card is closed the gold deco label lays perfectly on the white deco label on the inside. The colors are different from Pat's card. My August birthday gave me Gold for a birth color with yellow & orange. The colors were a challenge. I used Calypso Coral for the base. I wanted to use polka-dots like Pat did on hers, but I only had Apricot Appeal in either the orange or yellow colors. I used oranges and yellows to watercolor the image with a small touch of green for the stem. I swiped the colors under "celebrate you". The gold is used for the largest deco label, ribbon, the embossed HB on the outside and the embossed sentiment inside: "There's something fabulous about your birthday {must be you!}". Thanks Pat for sharing your cards and for inspiring my first flip card. I had fun making it. Thanks for the unique color challenge. I want to revisit this color combo in Autumn. TFL

This is a darling flip card - love the warm colors and the strip of glimmery gold. You could enter this in today's TLC challenge as well, for partial die cuts.

I really like the color combination! I think it must look really great with the card closed and the white border around the gold layer. The swish of colors below the sentiment is really creative. I need to try to remember it next time I use these smaller stamps and sentiments! You used this small stamp so effectively. I have trouble with small ones a lot of times!
