I love gold for holiday & fall cards! I used a brushed gold paper on the centers & leaves & gold heat embossing for the greeting. This is also for Kerry's HYCCT1514 challenge...mosaics.THIS was my inspiration & the lacy poinsettia dies are coincidentally named "Merry Mosaics".
After die cutting all the different poinsettia parts & assembling them, they were attached to a dot embossed white bg. I used an embossing frame to leave the oval around the the greeting flat & just emboss the rest. I've done this w/ self made cardboard frames & it works perfectly, but this was handy & the right size
I used a lot of masking to stamp the All is Calm greeting. I inked the first line only, wiped off the A & replaced it w/ the Flourished Alphabet letter A. I did the same to the second line using the flourished B. I find it easiest when stamping only 1 line, to ink the line, wipe off the ink of the parts I don't want to stamp, then cover the wiped off letter & second line w/ a piece of scotch tape because no matter how well I think I remove the ink, some always remains. This just makes sure it doesn't ruin my project. The words were all gold embossed (one at a time, as they were stamped).
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups & the inside are on my blog: The Write Stuff
