I created this for Jeanne's HYCCT1523 Pretty Tattoo challenge. If I ever went for a tattoo I think I would choose the word HOPE. Hope is all that got me through some tough days. My other choice would be a cat. LOL They've gotten me through tough days too!
I have been trying this technique for several weeks and just haven't gotten it to work for me until today. I would never try it without a MISTI because the stamp is inked with distress ink, stamped on watercolor paper and then spritzed with water to make the colors wash. Once dried the stamp is inked with a black ink and stamped on top of the original stamping.
I am also playing along with the MIX143 challenge today to make a phrase or word be the focal point of the card. The layer behind my word was created with Brusho Crystal Colors and I couldn't help myself, I dunked it in the last bits of Wrinkle Free Distress technique splatters from another project! Yeah, I am a little addicted to WFD! I don't think you can see it in the photo but the black layer was heat embossed in clear EP with a dot stamp.

This is gorgeous, Angie. I have never seen this technique, but it is so pretty. Now I can't wait to try it. The bold black is so pretty against the watercolor "shadow" in the bg.
