So excited that HYCCT is finally here! Lydia's challenge to kick us off asks us to depict our least favorite kind of weather. I'm OK with snow (kind of have to be when you live in the Midwest!) but it kicks it up to another level when you add in ice. When we lived in VA ice storms were even more common-limbs shattering, power lines going down and treacherous road conditions. We go with whatever life throws us because we have to, but I'd rather not deal with ice!
I inked up my stamps using markers so I could have the base lines be gray and the trees their natural colors. I then used my glitter pen to add snow. I took a brush and added Crystal Effects to the trees and snow to simulate the ice (note to self-make sure your paintbrush is completely clean next time-got some reddish tints in my ice!). I sponged in some sky and kept it bare like the trees!
Are you playing along with us? If not, you're missing out on the chance to lift the spirits of women battling breast cancer at MD Anderson, and also on prizes from your favorite crafty companies. So what are you waiting for? Go stamp something pretty!

Lovely card and a great idea to use crystal effects to simulate the ice on the trees! I don't like ice either - my poor mother in her late 80s slipped on ice and broke her arm a few winters ago.
