This is one of the cards I made for this week's Teapot Party. I always love it when it's time to Tickle a Teapotter - it's so much fun! AND I have the honor of hosting this month's Tickle - very cool!
I've had this background in my stash forever, so I'm not really certain, but I think I did wrinkle-free distress to color it. All I can say for sure is that I must have tried to drown the piece to get the blending that happened. It was embossed with a TH embossing folder that I don't know the name of because it was borrowed. I brayered VersaMark over it and heat embossed with clear ep.
When I decided to use it for my challenge card, I chose the orchid and aqua papers to pull out those colors in the background. To emphasize the orchid color even more, I brayered over the top again with a metallic orchid ink and sealed it with a spray fixative.
After die cutting, I added Black Soot Stickles to the club icon (which I wish I hadn't) and gold nailheads (thank you, Nancy (stiz2003)!) to the crown. Everything was layered onto the card base, with a craft foam layer behind the focal for dimension.
I cut the sentiment words from the aqua and orchid papers and layered them (using Stick It adhesive before cutting), then attached them to the card front with Multi Medium.
With the exception of the Stickles, I love how this turned out. I hope the recipient does, too!
As always, thanks for looking!
