Our CAS317 today is to make a card with bulbs or flowers that come from bulbs. I embossed the lily in white and then used the watercolor technique where you color with distress markers and then add just a bit of water with a paintbrush and let the water basically do the work for you (the embossed lines keep it contained - so easy to do). The frame and matting are die cut with rectangle dies and then the white layer is embossed before assembling and mounting to the card front with dimensional tape. Linking also to:
CAS Colours and Sketches colors: my green is a bit dark as the darker marker overpowered the more wasabi-like color, and my yellow is in the stamen of the flowers: http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspo...6-colours.html

Oh pretty lilies. They almost look like Tiger lilies we ahve them growing in the wood along streams. They are orange with black spots so I think they should be called Leopard lilies! Anyway, the are beautiful pink ones! I love them!

Wow, this is incredible! Thanks for explaining how you did the coloring, I MUST give this a try. Love the effect that the white embossing gives to the flower image, especially when combined with your dynamic coloring. Nicely done!
Really gorgeous card, Maura! Your lilies are so pretty, and I love your embossed border!
Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at ATSM! Barb G.
Whoops, missed this one. I love painting in embossed lines. Such splendid color variations happen. This is lovely and looks pretty good in the AAA Cards gallery! Thanks sweetie for playing with us. hugs, Victoria
