Faith has given us a fun challenge to end the year with......and ALL the words to Auld Lang Syne...who knew all those extra words existed???
Nothing has changed with me, I still don't read challenges properly - all that my scrambled brain took in was "friends and party hats". I didn't take in the lovely options of sharing coffee, running on the slopes or paddling in a stream. Instead we had a few Teapotters, rolling on the couch laughing and bringing in the new year, even Rover is joining in the fun.
The girls are wearing their very best PJ's along with colour-coordinated party hats!! Rover (RAK from our Stamperrobin) is an Ai stamp, complete with party hat. I made a template of his hat and traced around it and made hats for the girls. This is a centre step card, with the centre stepped back instead of the sides. The picture frames were made with circle punches and acetate.
I hope you all had a happy Christmas. Now for the worst part...putting away all the decorations and tree. I discovered a really quick way to bring down the tree, literally!!! I was vaccuming near the tree yesterday and without noticing I sucked up a bit of tinsel, I just thought the cord was wrapped around the leg of the couch, so I gave it a big yank and the whole tree (all 7 foot of it) fell over. In a panic I quickly pushed the off button on the vac....turns out it wasn't the off button, but the cord retractor button and before I knew what was happening, I got wacked in the face with plug from the flying cord, tripped on the tree and landed face first amoungst the branches.
No real damage done and it could have been a lot worse. It was an artificial tree, last year we had a real tree....could you image the water in the bucket spilling all over the floor - I might have electrocuted myself LOL.
Happy New Year and thank you so much for looking.

Such a fun card -- I want to be invited to this party next year!. The details are all wonderful, but I think it's a hoot to see the framed portrait of the dog on the wall right behind where he's standing.
Glad you survived the Attack of the Christmas Tree. I'm sure it makes a better story than it does a thing to live through. Good news -- you don't have to worry about another Christmas tree attack for 11 months.

Oh - Susie - Glad to hear that you are OK after the ambush with the Christmas tree and the vaccum. Thankfully no damage to either of you. I feel for you - I am just recovering from a broken nose after a fall a month or so ago - still very tender. This is a wonderful card and such a laugh. I am glad to see that I am still the one on the end of the couch with my legs over the side. He he he Have a safe New Year's Eve tonight. Best wishes for 2015.

Oh Susie, I am laughing so hard at your very amusing story, all at your own expense!! That must have been a funny thing to witness, just as well, as you said, it was an artificial tree!! Now to your brilliant card, these ladies look like they are rolling with fun - they probably just read this post of yours - wonderful, wonderful card - yet again - Susie!!!

Every time I see this I always want the bunny slippers - even though I know in real life those slippers aren't so practical. I love the little picture of Rover, and the muted tones of the decor contrasting with the bright happy pyjama party.
Ouch on the plug whacking you in the face, I can only hope it was a little less sore than standing on it, which is what I often seem to do.
Happy New Year to you, dear friend.

Holy Moley, Susie - you have again brought the teapotters the BEST party EVER!! So sorry to hear that you, the Christmas tree and that nasty vacuum cord, gave your UN-DECORATING party a bad ending - just hope you are okay after the ordeal - trees can be replaced but YOU - most DEFINITELY NOT!! You really are one of a kind!!
Your card had me laughing so hard, I had tears running down my leg! That must be me in the GREENIE pajamas!! Love the gals really partying for New Year's and love that even the dog got into the act - your cards are the most original and bring us such joy, to say nothing of your stories - you and Geoff have a very happy - and I hope, safe New Year's!! Hugs!

Susie, I can never decide which is better, the card or the story that goes with it. You really need to make a center step card with you and the destroyed tree. Your card is just amazing...I especially love the hats. Your center step and side step cards are such creative masterpiecers. Pinned and faved.

Oh my... I'm just cracking up with laughter! I sure hope you weren't hurt. You have had quite the year of mishaps! I do hope that 2015 will be kinder to you, but then what would you write about???
Love this fun card. What genius to trace the hat! These friends are sure know how to have fun at the party!
Happy New Year my friend.
