Sara (shoogendoorn) is the FS409, and she has a wonderful gallery. I see she loves the SU! set Lovely As A Tree even more than I do, and she is all about some fun techniques. I picked this fun card to case:
I thought the colors would look good in the trees so I reversed my colors from the sky to the trees. I added some ribbon and a punched greeting plus lots of SnowTex (a medium I bought at Hobby Lobby - I get a lot of questions on this - not sure if they still carry it but I hope so as I am running low).
I washed my paper with water and put in the sky, then added a little base of a walkway (kind of like steps) with some watered down distress ink, and then stamped my trees (not the base of the stamp) in various colors and blurring them a bit more with water. After they dried, I flicked some SnowTex all over and then used a bit on the snowdrifts on the bottom.
After I finished my card, I went to add a note to Sara's card and discovered that the galaxy look she got for her card is a technique. Watched the YouTube link she included on her blog and I am going to be trying that next - how fun!!!
Sara is one of my favorite names. My Sister and my Mother both shared it and both my daughters plan to use it again if they get the chance. Congrats to you Sara, your gallery is beautiful, your blog is super fun, and I plan to visit more often to see what you are up to.
I also purposely picked a tree card to case so I could play in this week's CAS challenge which is all about some trees. This card was super easy to put together -seriously. I made it Angie!!

The richness on your trees is really marvellous Nancy! They have so much depth it's hard to believe they are on flat paper! The snow is a wonderful touch and adds to the realism. I too thought the Sara's link to the galaxy technique looked intriguing. We learn so much from each other. What a wonderful card you have created in honour of Sara. I love it!
